Afriderm Body Butter: Product Review

The level at which I love freebies borders on embarrassment sometimes. At least I can admit it. I’m not saying it’s a problem though, because who doesn’t love freebies?

At the last #ECMeetUp of 2017 we received a goodie bag stuffed with enough freebies to keep you busy for a while. It’s the best part of going to the events actually, other than the majorly inspirational and motivational talks that has gotten me here, sitting at my desk, writing a blog post.

Receiving freebies doesn’t always mean that it’s going to be stuff you use for yourself. Some of the stuff doesn’t workfor you or apply to you and that’s okay, because they become awesome gifts, and that my dear people is how we save money in 2018, hahaha!

Jokes aside, we (both hubsticle and I) both received a full-size Afriderm body butter in our goodie bags. The label reads: Pampering Moisture perfection. For All Dark Skin Tones. Right there, my handsome, light-skinned Maverick was eliminated from the body butter equation. Can I get a “Whoo Shem!!!”

I’ve been battling dry skin for as long as I can remember. Winter time means inflamed, itchy skin even after I’ve applied generous amounts of creams to my skin. Summer is always a risk, hence I always have lotion/body cream in my handbag. I dont usually try anything new on my skin, at the risk that it might just worsen my dry problem. But I gave this body butter a go and boy oh boy am I happy that I did!

Firstly, it smells amazing! And that’s the only benefit my husband got from giving me his tub of butter. The texture is so rich and smooth but its not greasy at all. I don’t look like I bathed in oil after applying all over my body and my skin feels so loved. Im sure it has a lot to do with the fact that it’s got shea butter as one of the ingredients (one of the items on a naturalista’s hair care shopping list). It’s available on Afriderm’s website for just under R110 and I also noticed that its available at selected Clicks and Edgars stores. How cool! My second tub is nearing the end and I’m quietly starting to panic.
